One of the things FEP wants in this new gun is new technology. For those familiar with our original guns, we went through 4 different boards. The original custom made chip board, WAS board, Lucky board and lastly APE's board.
They all had issues. From the code not being correct for the various modes, to molex plugs being the wrong size to just having basic quality control problems. It reflected poorly on FEP in the end, regardless who made the electronics.
Well I'm avoiding that pit fall this time around. We have tentatively got Tadao lined up to make our new line of OLCD boards for our new gun. Working with our designer from the start, the board and frame will be designed together, not as an after thought as with most guns.
We're not going to have wiring in the way anymore, or harnesses that break, or boards that short out. We're going for top quality.
I'm hoping this pays off for us. I mean the other option was to go the route Dangerous Power went, and that's to hit up Taiwan for cheap recycled metals to make your guns from, and some no name design firm in China making your electronics. Sure it may be the new "American way", but this is something my names going to be associated with.
I'd rather have someone say we made some quality bad ass stuff, but we failed in business, rather then we made junk and that's why we failed.
But then again, we're not going to fail.
